Northern Quiet
Northern Quiet began as a single week in a borrowed cabin and became three winters. The coast there has two moods: violent for an hour, then utterly still for a day.

The scan straight off the film is flat on purpose. The print adds three stops of shaping: a burned sky and a lifted foreground.
